Looking for a job that gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Jewish teens and prioritize your own professional growth and development as a Jewish educator? The Diller Teen Fellows coordinator is a unique position that develops creative, outside-the-box educators and empowers them to lead and grow our next generation of changemakers through a dynamic fellowship that’s part of a global network.

4Front is the Baltimore Jewish community’s comprehensive teen initiative, managed by the JCC of Greater Baltimore. Based on four pillars, advocate, innovate, educate, and collaborate, 4Front serves as a gathering place and open channel for Baltimore’s Jewish teens and the adults who care about them. Here, teens are encouraged to explore their Judaism in ways that are meaningful to them. Our organizational culture values innovation, creativity, and risk taking. We're looking for someone who can create transformative experiences for teens.

DILLER ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:

Diller Teen Fellows is one of 4Front’s signature teen programs. The fellowship is an immersive experiential education program for 11th graders designed to inspire and promote Jewish engagement and leadership among Jewish youth. Diller Teen Fellows has 32 communities across North and South America, South Africa, Australia, Europe, and Israel.

SUMMARY:

The Diller Coordinator serves as the primary facilitator, educator, mentor, and guide to the 20 teens in each Diller cohort as they participate in a year of Jewish and general identity exploration, reflection on their leadership gifts and growth areas, their relationship to Jewish community and Israel, and their feelings for and engagement in tikkun olam. This professional will plan and implement engaging and impactful teen programs from start to finish, including Sunday workshops, immersive retreats, and our seminars in Baltimore and Israel. The Coordinator’s primary role is to help each teen explore their relationship to Jewish life and community, as well as deepening their connection to leadership. Coordinators also focus significant energy and time helping teens recognize and make the most of their inherent gifts and embrace their areas for growth.

This position includes tremendous opportunity for professional development through multiple growth-oriented opportunities throughout the year, including both national and international conferences annually. The Diller Coordinator engages in Diller International’s immersive professional development seminars three times per year along with other Coordinators from across the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Australia, South America, Europe and Israel. This is in preparation for managing and leading seminars with the teen fellows, including our 3-week trip to Israel in the summer.

The Diller Coordinator is also an active member of the innovative 4Front team and is encouraged to think creatively about implementing a vision for more engaged Jewish teens throughout Jewish Baltimore. The Diller Teen Coordinator will spend 80% of their time on the Diller Fellowship and the other 20% of their time on other 4Front responsibilities.
